Membership

Stewardship, Not Admission

Why Membership Exists

Wyrdwood is not a theme park, resort, or public attraction.

It is a member-supported living world, stewarded by the Wyrdwood Society, a Canadian federal not-for-profit organization created to protect the land, the experience, and the community that gathers here.

Membership is not a ticket.

It is participation in the long-term creation and care of Wyrdwood.

Why Membership Exists

Wyrdwood exists at the intersection of:

– private land stewardship
– immersive and participatory experiences
– community-led storytelling
– education, craft, and skill-sharing
– long-term cultural preservation

Operating under a not-for-profit, membership-based model allows Wyrdwood to:

– Protect the land from short-term commercial pressure
– Remain a private, intentional place rather than a public attraction
– Offer immersive experiences without becoming an amusement venue
– Prioritize contribution, care, and continuity over mass attendance
– Grow deliberately, not explosively

Membership allows us to invite people into the project itself, rather than selling access to a finished product.

How Membership Works

Membership is the foundation of access to Wyrdwood.

Different memberships exist to support different kinds of participation, including:

– Exploring and engaging with the world
– Learning through workshops and education
– Stewarding land, animals, and systems
– Participating in story, craft, or governance
– Supporting family and youth programs

Not all members do the same things — and they are not meant to.

Some people come to learn.
Some come to build.

Some come to play, teach, raise families, or quietly belong.

Membership & Access

Membership provides eligibility for access, not unlimited entitlement.

Depending on membership type, this may include:

– On-site day access
– Participation in workshops or learning programs
– Story and narrative engagement
– Use of shared spaces and facilities

Accommodation, overnight stays, and special programs are booked separately and are subject to availability, season, and capacity.

This ensures that the land, infrastructure, and community remain healthy and sustainable.

Membership vs. Visits

Some offerings at Wyrdwood may eventually be available to non-members in limited, structured ways — such as guided experiences, select stays, or public-facing programs.

Membership, however, provides:

– Earlier and more consistent access
– Deeper involvement
– Ongoing participation
– A voice in how the world evolves

Those who return often, contribute creatively, or wish to take part in the deeper life of Wyrdwood will find membership essential.

What Membership Supports

Membership contributions directly support:

– Land acquisition and environmental stewardship
– Infrastructure and site development
– Safety systems and operational readiness
– Education, workshops, and skill-sharing
– Creative development, worldbuilding, and events
– Legal, insurance, and regulatory compliance
– Long-term preservation of Wyrdwood as a living world

This structure ensures that Wyrdwood grows with its community, not at its expense.

A Living Structure

Wyrdwood is still growing.

Membership levels are designed to:

– Support different life circumstances
– Allow gradual or deep involvement
– Respect time, finances, and capacity
– Change and evolve as the world matures

No single path is required.
No one is expected to “buy in” beyond their comfort.

You may join simply to stay informed —
or to help shape what comes next.

Both matter.

Next: Membership Paths

Below you’ll find the current membership paths available at Wyrdwood, each designed for a specific way of engaging with the world.

Choose the one that fits how you wish to participate —
not how much you wish to consume.

Explore membership levels arranged by involvement and experience. Each tier helps sustain Wyrdwood’s ongoing stewardship and creative development.

Public Guest — Day-Member NPC Pass

$30 — single day only

For first-time visitors, observers, and those exploring whether Wyrdwood is right for them.

The Public Guest pass provides temporary, single-day membership in the Wyrdwood Society, allowing limited access to the site for the purposes of exploration, observation, and introductory participation. This pass exists to ensure that individuals may legally and safely access the land and experience Wyrdwood before deciding whether ongoing membership is right for them.

Public Guests may attend as NPC participants or observers, allowing them to walk the site, meet members, view active or planned areas, and gain a clear understanding of how Wyrdwood operates — both as a physical place and as a living world.

The contribution associated with this pass helps directly support the development and stewardship of Wyrdwood, including land care, infrastructure, safety, and the ongoing creation of the world guests are visiting.

This tier is intentionally designed as a low-commitment entry point. It allows prospective members to explore the environment, ask questions, observe immersive play, and understand how membership, events, and participation are structured.

Public Guest membership expires at the end of the day and does not include character progression, long-term access, or ongoing privileges. It is not intended as a substitute for full membership, but as a clear and respectful introduction.

For those who wish to return, participate regularly, or develop a character within the world, a full membership path is required.

“Come, see the land, and help shape the world you step into.”

Wanderer — Digital Membership

$120 per year
($0.33 per day)

For those who walk the path from afar — and still shape the world.

The Wanderer tier is designed for individuals who wish to be part of Wyrdwood without requiring regular physical attendance. This includes members who live in other countries, have limited mobility, health considerations, financial constraints around travel, or whose lives simply do not yet allow frequent on-site participation.

Wanderers are full members of the Wyrdwood Society (NFP) and take part through digital participation, receiving project updates, early announcements, and access to members-only communications and community spaces.

Importantly, Wanderers may create and develop characters digitally, participate in world decisions, narrative development, correspondence, and long-term story arcs that influence Wyrdwood from beyond its physical borders. Actions taken by Wanderers can shape factions, events, lore, and outcomes within the living world.

When circumstances allow, Wanderers are welcome to step into Wyrdwood in person — whether briefly or occasionally — without needing to change their foundational membership.

This tier exists to ensure that distance, disability, or circumstance do not bar someone from belonging.

Not all paths are walked with boots on the ground. Some are traced through stories, choices, and patience.

Benefits

– Access to Wyrdwood App + character XP system
– Online quests & world campaign participation
– Discord access for community & roleplay channels
– Newsletters, development updates, world reveals
– Digital events, polls, story engagement

Restrictions

– No physical site access (unless participating in a guided or member-hosted experience.)
– No camping rights
– No NFP voting rights

Ideal for: Remote players, lore followers, digital-only adventurers.

Apprentice Storyweaver — NPC Pathway Program

$60 per year
($0.16 Per Day)

For those with more time than money — and a desire to help bring the world to life.

The Apprentice Storyweaver tier exists to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent meaningful participation in Wyrdwood. This membership is designed for individuals who wish to contribute through non-player character roles, storytelling support, world assistance, or volunteer service, rather than through higher membership fees.

Apprentice Storyweavers primarily participate as NPCs and helpers, supporting events, scenes, logistics, or narrative elements. This tier does not include standard player-character access, but it provides a vital entry point into the community for creatives, volunteers, and aspiring contributors.

This path recognizes that time, effort, and care are just as valuable as financial support.

Benefits

– NPC-only role for first season
– Free NPC campsite + basic rations while working
– Costume + armoury access
– Combat, acting, immersion training workshops
– Earned credits to build a powerful PC later
– May graduate to Champion/Pathfinder after one season

Commitment

NPC at 6 of 10 major events per season
No PC until graduation path achieved

Serve first — rise later.
A rite-of-entry adventurer path.

Champion of the Realm — NPC Service Membership

$180 per year
($0.49 Per Day)

For committed contributors who serve the world — and may also walk it.

The Champion of the Realm tier is intended for members who wish to be actively involved in maintaining and supporting Wyrdwood, while also retaining the ability to participate as a player when not serving in an NPC role.

This membership exists specifically for those who may not have the means to access higher-priced tiers, but who are willing to give time, labor, and creative effort in exchange for deeper access. Champions regularly serve as NPCs, staff support, or event helpers, and may play a player character during periods when they are not scheduled or required to NPC.

This tier balances service and play, ensuring that dedication and contribution can open doors that money alone should not.

Benefits

– Full Pathfinder-level world access
– May play PC when not scheduled to NPC
– XP system, quests, workshops, Discord
– NFP voting rights
– Storage add-ons available normally

Commitment

– 16 NPC hours per quarter (64/year)

Champions earn their way by serving the story.

Pathfinder — On-Site Access Membership

$360 per year
($0.99 Per Day)

For those ready to walk the land and take part in the living world.

The Pathfinder tier is intended for members who wish to regularly attend Wyrdwood in person and participate directly in its immersive experiences.
Pathfinders gain on-site access to events, gatherings, and activities as they unfold, allowing them to establish a physical presence within the world.

This tier supports active player characters, on-site roleplay, and participation in storylines, factions, and evolving narratives. Pathfinders are not visitors passing through — they are participants whose actions, choices, and alliances help shape the tone and direction of Wyrdwood.

Pathfinder membership is ideal for those who plan to return often, build relationships within the community, and experience Wyrdwood as a place that grows and changes alongside them.

The path begins beneath your feet — and leads deeper with every step.

Hearthholder — Seasonal Camping Membership

$900 per year
($2.47 Per Day)

For those who wish to stay longer and return often.

Hearthholders are members who treat Wyrdwood not as a destination, but as a seasonal home. This tier provides expanded on-site access and seasonal camping privileges, allowing members to remain on the land for extended periods and return across multiple gatherings throughout the year.

Hearthholders form deeper ties to the place itself — its rhythms, its people, and its evolving stories. They are familiar faces within the community, known not just by name, but by presence. This tier is ideal for those who wish to build continuity in their character, their relationships, and their role within the world.

Hearthholder membership reflects commitment — not ownership, but belonging.

$700 per year
($1.92 Per Day)

For groups who adventure together.

The Party Hearthholder tier is designed for small groups who wish to camp, participate, and tell stories together under a shared membership structure. This tier supports coordinated attendance, shared encampments, and group-based immersion.

Party Hearthholders are ideal for established adventuring parties, families, or close-knit groups who want their experience of Wyrdwood to be collective rather than individual. It allows groups to build shared history, recurring narratives, and a recognisable presence within the world.

This tier reinforces the idea that Wyrdwood is not only shaped by individuals, but by bonds between them.

(Minimum of 4 people required to form a Party, additional benefits are not granted with less )

When four or more Hearthholders unite, they may claim a dedicated encampment — a named place in the woods that grows with them over time.

For those shaping the foundations of the world.

Guild Founders are early supporters and long-term stakeholders who help define the identity, structure, and culture of Wyrdwood’s guild system. This tier reflects a deeper level of commitment — not simply to participation, but to stewardship and continuity.

Guild Founders receive lasting recognition within the world and play a role in establishing traditions, guild identities, and long-term direction. Their influence is not managerial or commercial, but cultural — helping shape what Wyrdwood becomes over time.

($1.15 Per Day)

For skilled contributors and active participants.

Guild Members belong to one of Wyrdwood’s functional guilds, such as builders, artisans, performers, stewards, or other specialist roles. This tier is intended for members who actively contribute skills, labour, or services to the site and its community.

Guild Members help sustain the living world through their craft and effort. Their work supports both the physical site and the immersive experience, strengthening Wyrdwood as a place shaped by those who inhabit it rather than consumed by visitors.

This tier recognises contribution as a form of participation — and skill as a meaningful path into the world.

Patron of the Realm — Legacy Stewardship

$5,600 one-time initiation, then $600 per year
($1.64 Per Day)

For those who believe this world should exist — and choose to help make that real.

The Patron of the Realm tier exists for people who truly believe in Wyrdwood: its vision, its values, and its potential to become something rare and lasting. This is not a tier about perks or priority access. It is about buying into the world itself, in the most literal sense.

Patrons provide foundational support that enables Wyrdwood to exist at all — contributing directly to land acquisition, infrastructure, long-term planning, and the quiet, unglamorous work that turns an idea into a real place. Their support helps ensure that Wyrdwood is built carefully, sustainably, and without compromising its principles.

This tier represents stewardship rather than ownership. Patrons do not control Wyrdwood, nor do they direct its day-to-day operation. Instead, they act as guardians of its future — helping secure the conditions that allow the world to grow, evolve, and endure for generations of members yet to come.

Patrons are recognised not for what they receive, but for what they make possible.

This path is for those who don’t just want to visit Wyrdwood — but want to know they helped ensure it exists.

Education Access Member – Learning & Skill Participation

$50 per year
(May also be bundled into program tuition)

For learners, students, and participants whose path into Wyrdwood is through education.

The Education Access Member tier exists to support workshops, classes, learning programs, and skill-based education at Wyrdwood — without requiring full immersion, roleplay, or long-term world participation.

This membership is designed for people who come to Wyrdwood to learn, whether through craft, nature-based education, traditional skills, or structured programs. It ensures that all participants are covered under the Wyrdwood Society’s safety, insurance, and stewardship framework, while keeping expectations clear for both learners and members.

Education Access Members are not visitors passing through a public venue. They are participants in a private learning environment, entering the land with intention, care, and respect.

This tier allows Wyrdwood to host meaningful education without becoming a school, attraction, or drop-in program — preserving both quality and culture.

Benefits

– On-site access during scheduled classes, workshops, or programs

– Use of relevant learning and workshop spaces
– Coverage under Wyrdwood safety and insurance systems
– Clear codes of conduct and expectations

Workshop participants, students, learners, visiting instructors, and education-focused attendees.

Guardian / Family Access Member — Support & Supervision

$60 per year

For parents, guardians, and caregivers supporting participants at Wyrdwood.

The Guardian / Family Access Member tier exists to support children and dependents who participate in Wyrdwood’s learning programs, workshops, or youth activities.

This membership allows parents or guardians to be present on-site in a defined, non-immersive role — ensuring clear responsibility, supervision, and communication while maintaining the integrity of the world itself.

Guardians are not expected to roleplay, perform, or participate in story systems. Their role is one of care, oversight, and support, allowing younger participants to engage safely and confidently.

This tier is especially important for learning pods, nature-based education, and family-oriented programming.

– Ability to supervise, support, and communicate with staff
– Use of common spaces during program hours

Steward of the Hunt — Ethical Land Use & Conservation

$300 per year
(Add-on membership — requires Pathfinder or higher)

For those entrusted with the responsibility of ethical hunting and land stewardship.

The Steward of the Hunt tier is not about access to game.
It is about responsibility.

This membership exists to allow carefully limited, ethical bow hunting within Wyrdwood, guided by conservation principles, safety, and respect for the land. Participation is intentionally restricted and subject to seasonal limits, training, and oversight.

Stewards of the Hunt are expected to understand that hunting within Wyrdwood is not recreation alone — it is part of a broader stewardship relationship involving habitat management, population balance, and respect for the living world.

This tier reinforces that hunting is not a right granted lightly, but a responsibility earned through trust and conduct.

Benefits

– Eligibility to participate in sanctioned bow-hunting days
– Access to tracking, scouting, and conservation programs
– Priority booking for limited hunt opportunities
– Participation in hide, bone, and non-food craft use
– Hunter-specific training and safety briefings

– Hunting access is not guaranteed and is capacity-limited
– Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal

“To hunt is to serve the balance — not to claim dominion.”

A Note on Pricing

Wyrdwood operates year-round as a living world, not a single event or weekend experience.
All memberships are annual because they help support the site, planning, storytelling, and land stewardship every day.

When viewed over a full year, most memberships work out to less than the cost of a coffee per day.

What that looks like in practice
$60/year → about $5/month
$120/year → about $10/month
$360/year → about $1 per day
$900/year → about $2.50 per day

Each tier reflects how you participate, not just how often you visit.

You are welcome to join at whatever level fits your curiosity and commitment.

Ready to Decide?

By now, you should have a clear sense of what Wyrdwood is — and what it is not.

This is not a theme park, a one-off event, or a disposable experience. Wyrdwood is being built as a living world, stewarded by a non-profit society, and shaped over time by the people who choose to take part in it.

Membership is how that stewardship works.

Whether you wish to observe from afar, contribute time and skill, walk the land as an adventurer, or help ensure the world itself comes into being, there is a path that fits both your circumstances and your level of commitment.

There is no pressure to choose more than you are ready for. Many members begin small, explore, and grow into deeper involvement over time.
